All in all this has been an amazing eye opening trip that has grown me in my faith.

The purpose of this was for us to learn how to share our testimony as a way of sharing the gospel.

Upon arrival through the mountainous terrain of Banao we grabbed our stuff and started to make our way towards the water.

After that I went on a water break and played catch with some Dominican kids.

It was a lot of hard work in the hot sun, but we all found ways to be joyful.

Some of the group was playing with the local children, and it was really nice seeing everyone having fun and working hard.

When we got to the work-site, we split off into a few teams: painting rusting doors, sifting rocky sand, and carrying buckets

We even got to hear the hymn “Because He Lives” which some of us sang in English, while the Lighthouse team sang in Spanish, and the church sang in Creole (French)!

we went up to the roof for our morning devos, and learned how to spend time in prayer with God.

the morning was smooth like peanut butter.

The amount of perseverance, character, and hope I saw in this team and how each of the students and leaders grew in all of these throughout the trip simply blew me away.

WE HAD SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS THIS MORNING! Before that we started up on the roof with morning devos where we talked about our 360 moment and how to talk to others about our experience here.

Welp it’s almost over, today was our second last full day. We began the day with morning devotions as usual, talking about the importance of being in, and being a community.

We had a fantastic day with the team, exploring and touring the city of Santo Domingo. Looked like a scene from Italy. But first, we woke up EXTRA early and watched the sun rise.

Today we talked about our favourite ways to connect with the Lord. We split off and took some time to worship God and enjoy the surrounding area.

Today was our first day at the job site. We drove half an hour to the community of Villa Altagracia.

Happy Sunday! Today we woke up and had an extra 30 minutes before we had to leave, so a lot of us had some extra God time.

Well, it’s your favourite people, Keandra and Liv! First full day in the DR, both of our first times as missionaries.

Boy was God with us today! Whether it was when Gabriel lost his phone or when Gabriel got taken aside for extra screening or when Gabriel’s bag fell apart… God was with us.
