In September, our elders met for a retreat to seek God’s direction for our church. We sensed a call not only to strengthen our ongoing ministries but also to prepare for the next steps in Shelburne and Grand Valley. As part of this vision, a portion of the 2025 Finish Strong challenge was set aside for outreach in these communities. Recently, we learned of a promising opportunity to purchase a house on Main Street in Shelburne that could serve as a Ministry Centre for midweek gatherings. Its strategic location would allow us to host student programs, home groups, men’s and women’s ministries, prayer gatherings, and courses like Freedom Session. This would give us a consistent and visible presence in the community beyond Sunday mornings. This aligns deeply with our mission of seeing spiritual transformation in Shelburne, and we believe, with God’s help, that this is a faithful and achievable next step.

In light of this opportunity, we are bringing a double ask to our church family. First, we ask you to pray with us for discernment, wisdom, and God’s clear leading. Second, we invite you to consider giving or making a financial pledge toward the down payment on what could become the Compass Ministry Centre in Shelburne. We are praying and trusting God to help us raise $200,000 in gifts and pledges by mid-January so that we can move forward with this opportunity or a similar one. Alongside this, we also continue to seek $200,000 through our Finish Strong challenge for our ongoing ministry needs. This is a church-wide opportunity and every gift matters, and everyone is invited to participate. Contributions toward a future ministry centre can be designated to the “multiplication” fund, and pledges may be made online or through a pledge card. Pledges, which are part of our discernment process need to be submitted by January 15 and will be due by May 1st should we move ahead with the purchase. Together, let’s stand in faith and be ready for what God has in store.
