Director of Worship & Creative Arts
40 hours per week
The role of Director of Worship & Creative Arts will oversee the creative aspects and elements of our Sunday morning gatherings, including our online service and our church-wide events, across all of our sites. They will also lead a creative team overseeing all areas of communication, media and production at Compass. We are searching for someone who is creative, has a passion for worship and is also a gifted musician, with a missional heart. Experience in media and production is an asset. They need to be a leader of leaders, leading teams and equipping others to accomplish the mission and vision of Compass. This high capacity and forward-thinking leader will become part of our staff team and will work closely with both our Lead Pastor and teaching team. This is a full-time position, with a benefit package.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Committed to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Previous ministry and leadership experience required.
Post-secondary biblical training preferred.
Multi-site experience preferred.
Musical aptitude and training.
Production and media experience.
Proficient in Planning Center.
Passionate about leading the church in worship.
Strong leadership and communication skills with an ability to equip and lead teams.
Aptitude for technology including computer software programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of Sunday gatherings, and creative aspects of the teaching series development. This also includes planning/production of our online service.
Work with the teaching pastors on an ongoing basis to execute yearly series planning and weekly content planning for all sites and services.
Ensure the scheduling of worship and production teams for Sunday gatherings and church-wide events across all sites using Planning Center.
Lead a weekly service review and planning meeting for staff, updating and communicating any changes to key ministry leaders.
Alongside our site and ministry directors, actively recruit and mentor new worship and production volunteers and leaders for Sunday gatherings and our online service, as well as for all Compass ministry programs.
Regularly lead worship during Sunday morning services.
Oversee and manage our creative team, including the Communications Coordinator and Media & Production Coordinator.

Champion of worship across Compass, collaborating with ministry leaders.

Graphic Designer, Communications Coordinator
40 hours per week
The Graphic Designer, Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading and overseeing all graphic design for print and digital applications, social media and website management, and content for weekly newsletters, emails, and internal applications. Experience in photography, media and production is an asset. They will provide oversight and management of the Compass Communications strategy both internally and externally. This position will take a leadership role in meeting the communications and marketing needs of Compass and its associated sites and ministries. This high capacity and forward-thinking leader will become part of our staff team reporting to the Director of Worship and Creative Arts and is a member of the creative team. This is currently a 40 hour per week position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as lead for graphic and print design, as well as marketing, including, but not limited to: website and website management, creation and management of social media content, signage, posters, promotional cards and products, informational cards and resources for all ministry programs and church-wide communications at Compass.
Proofread with attention to detail.
Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop and shape a variety of high-quality content for web, print, social media, email with internal and marketing applications. Produce and distribute regular communications including the Sunday Talking Points, Compass News email and all special digital communication.
Champion all social media platforms to ensure a greater online presence and engagement. (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Develop, communicate and implement a social media strategy, in collaboration with ministry staff and the creative team.
Develop and maintain a social media calendar, organize and schedule weekly posts.
Maintain and expand the brand kit of Compass as trends shift.
Maintain and implement a church-wide communications calendar in partnership with creative and administrative teams.

Oversee the recruitment, training, coaching and scheduling of all communications volunteers and staff, providing resources, cultivating, and encouraging a creative community for those serving in Communications at Compass.
Assist Creative Team with set design as necessary.
Ensure all content adheres to copyright laws.
Photograph or arrange for photography for various church events for use in worship, media productions, and communications.
Recruit, and develop teams of photographers, graphic designers, writers, and other creatives in using their gifts to serve the church.
Responsible to maintain an archive of all photography and images.
Responsible for innovation and creation of Creative Team goals, strategy and timely completion of projects.
Attend all Creative Team meetings.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, Canva, Squarespace.
Ability to create and send newsletters (MailChimp).
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Social Media Platforms: Instagram, Facebook.

Bookkeeper, Finance Coordinator
8 - 12 hours per week
The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in supporting the ministry of Compass Community Church by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. Working closely with the staff team, the Bookkeeper will ensure excellence in accounting practices and accurate record keeping. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, organized, and trustworthy, with strong financial literacy and the ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities. This is currently an 8–12 hour per week position with openness to on-site and remote work.
BOOKKEEPER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced in bookkeeping.
Proficient in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll (with emphasis on AP/Payroll).
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial transactions, and numerical accuracy.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including accurate data entry.
Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain financial data clearly.
Proficient written and oral English skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with CRA and ESA regulations.
Record and process accounts payable to ensure all bills are coded correctly and paid on time.
Manage and reconcile credit card transactions.
Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, credit cards, and monthly vendor statements.
Post and maintain journal entries.
Prepare and review month-end financial reports, including reconciliations and summaries, and assist with year-end preparation.
Coordinate with external auditors by preparing annual audit files and responding to audit questions to support financial statement preparation for AGMs.
Prepare and file required remittances, including HST and workers’ compensation.
Support the staff team by responding to finance-related questions, providing guidance, and managing bookkeeping correspondence and documentation.
Participate in monthly all-staff meetings and contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team culture.
Proficient in QuickBooks
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proficient in payroll programs (we will train on ours)
Proficient in using online banking systems
