Dominican Republic 2025 Day One
Boy was God with us today! Whether it was when Gabriel lost his phone or when Gabriel got taken aside for extra screening or when Gabriel’s bag fell apart… God was with us. We started off the day by waking up at 4am with smiles on our faces getting ready to depart. We arrived around 6:15am at the airport and checked in and all that boring airport stuff. It took a while to go through security because of some extra checks and mishaps. Then when one of the students stuff was almost thrown out because of all the liquids, we had to go back to the start and re-check their bag because paying for a checked bag was way better than losing their stuff. We then grabbed some grub and boarded the plane around 8:45am which is also when Gabriel got his phone back! Hallelujah! We sat down and waited for the plane to fly off to never land. As it was the first plane ride for some, Jacob comforted (*cough* Keandra gripping his arm so tight it was purple *cough*) them and we flew off. The flight was pretty chill, and a few people were curious about our mission, so we told them what we were doing and our mission. The descent was not as chill and was a little shaky. Jacob then comforted the newer plane riders once again (*cough* his arm is now green *cough*). We landed, went through security and grabbed our stuff then made our way to the bus. Once on the bus we were greeted by the Lighthouse members and got Dominos (which is much better then Canadian Dominos) (Anna thinks otherwise) (Gabriel doesn’t care). We left off once again and made our way to the compound where we prayed and ate great food. After dinner we settled in, got washed up and went for a dip in the pool. We then connected some more with the staff and then started Devos. Which led us here.
Miss you all!
