It's the weekend!

Today was unlike any day so far this week. We got to meet so many new people!

We started the day off with ESL (English as a Second Language) and were able to meet and teach so many students of all ages. What made it so cool is that all of them wanted us to be there and they were so interested in everything about us!

After many conversations, we made several connections and built relationships with the students within just a few hours! They were phenomenal, and all took pride in their English. We also got to learn about them and their community, and we got to watch a play that they put on for us!

Following lunch, we began painting the school area of our compound. At first it would seem boring, but we got to know our group members and Dominican leaders a lot better. As we chatted more with our Lighthouse leaders, we learned about their community as they learned about ours. While reviewing the similarities and differences between both cultures, we grew a deeper understanding of one another and had plenty of good laughs in the process.

Concluding the day, we had our daily worship and debrief time. We discussed more about visiting a different culture and had a good conversation about the differences between a tourist and missionary.

Well, I guess that concludes our day! Thanks again for reading!
