About Compass Kids

We have a deep desire that children would not only experience what it means to know and follow Jesus Christ but even more that they would become His disciples. Each week the environment and age-appropriate teaching methods are designed to help your kids understand the Bible and learn to apply its teaching to their lives.

At Compass Kids, we seek to Connect our children to their church community so they can Thrive in their faith and Commit to loving God and others. We are passionate about enabling children to experience the love of Christ, find their eternal identity in Him, and grow in the love and knowledge of God.

We use a combination of curriculum featuring Orange/reThink and What’s in the Bible? for our online and in-person programming. Our goal is to provide age appropriate theological training along with practical life application of the Gospel to foster authentic and lasting spiritual formation in our children.

Compass Kids, A Cooperative Ministry

At Compass Kids, we believe that the most important investment you’ll ever make as parents is in your children’s spiritual development and growth. We know that this begins at home. We also know that the church plays an important role in supporting and enhancing those efforts. We want to partner with you in creating the best possible children’s program for your family. Compass Kids is a cooperative ministry.

Every parent with children regularly attending Compass Kids owns a piece of the program and is essential to it. We need all qualified parents to serve.

Our paid staff is here to organize, plan, equip and help you plug in. Whichever way you serve, you’ll reap the benefits of your investment. You’ll be partnering with all the other families involved, and have direct input into the program. Compass Kids will be richer because of what you bring to it. You and your children will share the experience of the program, and they will understand how highly you value it.

We believe that it takes a full partnership of parents, children’s ministry workers and the greater church body to authentically disciple a child.

The Canadian study “Hemorrhaging Faith” (commissioned by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada) found that only one in three Canadian young adults who attended church regularly as a child still does today. We need to operate as the body of Christ and encourage one another to love the Lord and each other so that our children can truly know what it means to follow Jesus. It’s more than just teaching the lessons - it’s living our faith in genuine community that engages our kids and helps them grow in their own faith. It’s our passion for taking our faith outside the doors of the church that will inspire the same passion in our kids.

We believe that it takes a full and active partnership of parents, children’s ministry workers, and the greater church body to authentically disciple a child. When our children complete their journey in Compass Kids they are ready and encouraged to serve their church and wider community in Jesus’ name - as full members of the Body of Christ.
