Day 5: Wednesday

By: Olivia A. & Abby

Today was beautifully amazing! We started our morning chatting over corn pops... mmm tasty. We then gathered together for morning devos. During devos we did an exercise to remind us how much we mean to God! Speaking of Him, oh was he ever so apparent in our day today. As we made our way to Leamington, a town 40 minutes away from Windsor, our team saw that drive as a chance to have some great laughs: we sang our hearts out.

Once in Leamington, we made our way inside the Foodbank Distribution Warehouse, where we served for the remainder of our morning. The atmosphere inside the warehouse was amazing. We began organizing food bins and preparing food hampers. By the second half of the morning, we created an efficient assembly line that made the project get done just that much quicker and smoother. The experience was eye opening. We were given the opportunity to look deeper into the realities of the foodbank system and the planning that goes behind it all. We are so humbly grateful to be able to serve and have our fingerprints in the mix.

We made our way back to the church and had so much fun playing card and tabletop games together. This time was a great midweek recharge! Next, was a fabulously delicious dinner at Feeding Windsor, a local ministry that provides meals to people in the community, where we enjoyed sausages, perogies and salad.

From there, we went straight to a Windsor Spitfire OHL game. WOW what a great experience.  Between making it on the jumbotron plenty of times (up to 13 times for some), making friends with mascot and taking home the overtime win, we couldn’t have had a better time. Needless to say.. we were definitely the loudest in the arena (hence our jumbotron appearances)! We can promise you that we will be getting a good nights rest tonight for tomorrow. Go Spits Go.

PS: ALL ABOARD THE SHANE TRAIN!!! WOO WOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
