About Our Preschool Program
At Compass Kids, we want our children to connect to God through Jesus, thrive in their faith, and commit to loving and serving God and those around them. In our preschool program, we focus on three simple truths – God made us, God loves us, and Jesus wants to be our friend forever. By focusing on our identity in Christ, and God’s faithful, loving character, we seek to ground our children in the realities of God’s kingdom, where each child is unique, loved, and has a purpose.
Compass Nursery
At Compass Kids, we believe that even the youngest infant can feel the love of Christ through those who care for them. Every child is a precious gift from God, made in His image and loved by Him. In our Nursery, we have created a safe, loving, and engaging environment for babies to connect with our volunteers and thrive in the love and care they receive. We are committed to help them rest and play while their parents attend a service.
We are fully stocked with toys and equipment for all babies from 0-23 months. With separate areas for young babies and active older babies, each child can engage safely with children at their own stage of development. Our change station is private enough to shield your child from outside onlookers, yet central enough so that no volunteer is ever alone with your child. We offer a quiet room for babies to sleep, and private space for nursing mothers to relax. We understand that some children need a moment to settle after their parent leaves, but we are equipped with a texting system to let you know immediately if your little one is distressed. Feel free to visit with your child at first, and choose for yourself when they are ready to stay behind with us.
Toddlers & Jr/Sr Kindergarten
Our Toddler and JK/SK classes use Orange First Look Curriculum, which is based on these three truths - God made us, God loves us, and Jesus wants to be our friend forever. First Look combines child development and theology to create curriculum for every phase of childhood – to effectively disciple children from birth through to graduation from our preschool program.
A combination of Bible stories, worship songs, activities, simple crafts, monthly memory verses and cooperative play encourage children to experience and explore God’s love in a safe and supportive environment. Parent resources assist families to continue the experience throughout the week together with their children. Whether accessed online or in-person, our preschool program effectively prepares our children and families to journey together with Jesus for the rest of their lives.
