About Our Elementary Program

At Compass Kids, we want our children to connect to God through Jesus, thrive in their faith, and commit to loving and serving God and those around them. In our elementary program, we focus on three elements of discipleship – theology, spiritual formation, and practically living out the Gospel. We want our kids to understand their faith by learning the history and theology of the Bible.

We want them to experience the transforming work of the Holy Spirit through the practices of worship, prayer, and reading and memorizing scripture - while sharing their faith journey within large and small groups. Finally, we want our kids to live out their faith by supporting and serving each other and the wider church community through prayer and acts of service.

We use a variety of curriculum resources to achieve these goals, but primarily utilise What’s in the Bible? (produced by Veggie Tales creator Phil Vischer), along with Orange 252 Basics.

Our Curriculum

What’s in the Bible

What’s in the Bible? (WITB) takes children through the entire Bible - the grand narrative of God’s rescue plan for humanity after creation and the fall. WITB teaches children Biblical history and theology in a creative, fun, and fast paced manner that holds them engaged throughout. It includes early church history, explanations of key biblical concepts, and historical context to help children understand the Old and New Testament more authentically.

Orange 252 Basics

Orange 252 Basics is an application based curriculum focusing on the command to love God and others as described by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39. Monthly themes encourage kids to apply biblical truth to their day to day lives. Weekly videos feature worship, scripture illustrated through practical situations and Bible stories, and encouragement to go deeper with God.
