Vancouver 2026 Day Three

By: Abby

Happy Mother’s Day moms!! And good afternoon, everyone!! Today was day three, Sunday May 10th (since it’s May now, may the Lord bless and keep you 😉).

Our morning started off with the familiar early wake up call and breakfast at Sharons house. Once we were all set, we headed out on our way to church. The church we went to today was called Boundless which is a salvation army church, as well as Sharons home church too. Once we got there, we were welcomed in by Pastor Tamara and her team. She gave us a little information about all of the ministries and ways of serving that their church is involved in. God truly has a hand in all that they accomplish and continue to do. After that we got straight to work with prepping food for lunch later, setting up the chairs, practicing worship and just preparing our hearts to serve. Once the congregation had started to roll in, we were able to join in their service and become a part of their family for the day. Everyone was so welcoming and kind, sharing lots of encouraging words and prayers.

First up in the service we watched a video for Mother’s Day, followed by worship led by Robbie, Sathya on piano and vocals, and Wade on cajon. They did a beautiful job of leading everyone in praise to God. After some more videos and announcements, in honor of all the moms of the church, Neisy had all the children come up to the front, grab a flower, and bring it back to give to their mom. It really was so sweet to see each of the women receive such a simple but truly beautiful gift of appreciation from either their child or someone else in their church family. After that, we had a beautiful time of prayer for our mothers and also for our team. We got called to the front, and from there received prayer from many people. In this time of prayer, Neisy had gotten an image from God where all 6 of us were standing in a line and had a beam of light coming from us going in all different directions. She said that God was wanting to tell us that He is calling us in all different directions to all corners of the world. He is going to use us for His kingdom’s glory and to spread His good news. In talking to her later, she told me that it had been quite some time since she had last received an image from God but that it was a very powerful and clear one in her mind. This has stayed with me personally as I had a similar image a few years back. God truly works in mysterious ways!

Continuing, after the beginning components of the service had finished, Matt, Neisy and I went with the kids to their programing. We had taken them to the park and got to connect with them. Once we had gotten back from the park, we all helped set up for lunch. We got to share a meal with the congregation and continue building connections and relationships! I realize that I’m now running out of space to write, but long story short, it was such a fun morning and I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that I felt quite at home in their church family!

We then got to finish our day with a STUNNING 2.5h bike ride around Stanley Park. Despite the one uphill stretch, it was such an enjoyable and beautiful ride. The sun was out, and so the community was too. Lots of friendly people out and about which I honestly think made the time more enjoyable. Don’t worry everyone back home, there is hope for summer, I promise. After our time there, we headed back home, had dinner, did our nightly devotionals and went to bed. Thinking back on our day, it is amazing to me all the ways that God was present. Through the loving nature of the Boundless church community, to the astonishing creation that we got to be embraced by, it brought to mind how utterly amazing it is to serve and personally know such an awesome and mighty God.

That’s all for now, I hope you are all doing well and take some time to get out in nature today!!
