Sunday Morning

Welcome to Compass!

Each Sunday at our Orangeville and Shelburne locations you can expect a similar experience: practical and relevant teaching rooted in God’s Word, music, prayer, and an emphasis on community and home groups. Each service lasts about an hour and a half, and Compass Kids is available on Sundays for children.

Sundays are a time for our church family to gather together for community, worship, prayer and to hear God’s word. All of these are important to us at Compass and you’ll see each of them happening during every service. Bring your Bible if you’ve got one or pick one up at the Connections Centre on your way in. Don’t worry about whether you’ll know the words to the songs, they’ll all be up on the screen at the front of the auditorium.

Our worship services on Sunday are a time when we come expecting and anticipating to meet with God. It is an incredible opportunity and if you’re thinking about being with us on a Sunday, we’d love to encourage you to do that!

  • What should I expect?

If this is your first Sunday at Compass, look for a greeter wearing a black lanyard. They’ll be able to help you and answer any questions you may have. Once you enter the auditorium, an usher will hand you a bulletin with some news updates in the life of our church, a Connection Card and a place to take notes during the message. If you need help finding a seat, the usher can do that as well.

  • What about my kids?

We have a great program for kids all the way from nursery up to grade 5. Compass Kids has age-appropriate, meaningful activities from leaders who have been well trained and screened through our security procedure.

  • What should I wear?

At Compass you’ll see people in jeans right next to people in suits. There’s no dress code for Sunday morning so please wear what will make you feel comfortable.

  • What if this is my first time?

We are excited to see you at Compass and want to let you know that we are here to serve you. The best way to let us know that you’re attending our worship service as a guest is to fill out the Connection Card in your bulletin. Take that to the Connections Centre (just ask someone with a black lanyard on if you need help finding it). We’ve got a gift for you there and you’ll meet people who can answer questions you may have about Compass.
